My Mom My Best Friend
This memorial website was created to remember our Dearest Mom, Sister, Aunty, and Friend who was born in Lagos Island, Nigeria on July 09, 1939 and passed away on December 20, 2009 after a short illness. You will forever live in our memories and hearts.
My mom was the "best mom ever”. There wasn't a soul around that didn't like her. She touched everyone's heart in one way or another, because she would do anything for you, and never complain about it.
She was our "No Nonsense Mom”. She knew how to get things done and she always did it her way. She was loved by many and hated by few for her sternness and her refusal to tolerate nonsense.
She was the center and united force of our family. She was a loving Mother to her children and grandchildren, with all her heart. She was our babysitter and our First Aider at Ebute Metta Health Centre. She always makes sure she was available, no matter what. We knew we were in good hands with her.
She was not only our mother, but our "best friend". I, Rotimi remembered when I was younger at my first day in High School. I was bullied by a peer who gave me a black eye. She went with me to school and defended me.
Our mom went through "tough teenage years" she was never raised by her parents, and traveled all over West Africa trading, she spoke different languages, eventually becoming a fluent speaker of the French language.
She was a wonderful and loving Mom to us. She did everything she could for me and she loved me with all her heart. She wanted peace, stability, success, and unity for all of us.
Our lives are changed forever due to her tragic death, but we will get through all of this as the strong person she was and made us all be. That is one gift she gave all of us.
